Specialising in environmental and resource management matters, Charlotte advises clients on a wide range of legal and strategic issues.

Her experience spans major infrastructure projects (with a focus on transport and renewable energy), residential development, environmental advisory and climate change. Charlotte has also provided advice to corporate entities on environmental due diligence for both vendors and purchasers.

She has appeared as counsel at council hearings and assisted clients in Environment Court mediations.

Recent highlights

  • Advised Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency at Council hearings and the Environment Court, on the designation and resource consent aspects of a number of state highway projects, including the Ara Tūhono Warkworth – Wellsford project and SH1 widening works.
  • Advised operators of major electricity generation and distribution assets (including wind farms, hydro power stations and geothermal power stations) on consenting, permitting, renewing and compliance issues.
  • Advised a range of (direct and indirect) greenhouse gas emitters on climate change policy, regulatory development, contractual arrangements, compliance issues and risk management.
  • Advised developers of nationally and regionally significant infrastructure on resource consent applications.
