Harry specialises in corporate and commercial law, with a particular focus on energy projects, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, commercial contracting and general commercial law.

He spent four months on full time secondment to Fonterra in 2021, where he provided in-house legal support on a range of matters including advising on general commercial contracts, procurement arrangements, supplier contracts and sponsorships. 

Recent highlights

  • Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) on its joint venture with Genesis Energy to develop 500MW of solar projects in New Zealand.
  • The Selwyn Foundation on the sale of six retirement villages and aged care facilities to listed retirement operator Metlifecare.
  • Mercury on its acquisition of the New Zealand wind farm assets of Tilt Renewables for almost $800m, as part of a consortium scheme of arrangement.
  • Various electricity generators, including Mercury, and developers on power purchase agreements for renewable electricity projects.
  • Metlifecare on its $1.3b scheme of arrangement with Asia Pacific Village Group, owned by EQT Infrastructure IV fund.
  • Mercury on the sale of Drive, its electric vehicle licensing business.
  • Flexgas, owner and operator of the Ahuroa gas storage facility, on the introduction of significant legislative changes for decommissioning of oil and gas assets under the Crown Minerals Act.
