Josie specialises in litigation and dispute resolution, with a focus on public law and working with iwi clients.
She has acted on a range of judicial review cases for both public and private clients, appearing in the High Court in a number of those proceedings. Josie also has experience advising clients on public-sector decision making and exercise of statutory powers.
More generally, Josie has assisted with a wide range of commercial disputes, including tortious, equitable, and contractual claims.
Josie completed a Judges’ clerkship at the Supreme Court before joining Chapman Tripp in 2019.
- Acting on a claim brought by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei regarding the Crown’s treaty settlement process, and appearing for intervenors Ngāti Kurī and Ngāi Te Rangi in the High Court.
