Natalie has represented public and corporate clients with large-scale infrastructure projects, property developments, commercial contracts and due diligence investigations.

She advises government agencies involved in major infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on roading, working with in-house counsel, project managers, planners and technical experts.

With extensive experience on regional and district plan reviews and a sound understanding of planning rules, Natalie provides clients with strategic advice about the use and development of their properties.

Natalie also has experience in Resource Management Act (RMA) prosecutions, providing strategic advice to help avoid prosecutions and defending clients when the unfortunate happens.

Recent highlights

  • Assisted Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency with the Thames-Coromandel District Plan and Auckland Unitary Plan (operative in part).
  • Acted for a major retirement village provider in relation to resource consent applications for retirement village developments across New Zealand.
  • Advised Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency on the Longswamp and Hamilton Bypass sections of the Waikato Expressway, Te Puna Memorial Hall designation and other state highway projects across New Zealand.
  • Defended a private client on an RMA prosecution relating to the discharge of a significant quantity of concrete runoff into a stream, successfully obtaining a discharge without conviction and a significant reduction in the imposed fine.
  • Acted for a consent holder on a judicial review of a residential development in Piha, where the neighbours challenged Auckland Council’s notification decision.
  • Advised local and international corporates on environmental due diligences (both purchaser and vendor) including drafting and negotiating relevant contract, warranty and indemnity provisions.
