Hamish is a specialist tax lawyer with experience advising on a broad range of complex tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions, finance transactions, tax disputes, and Inland Revenue engagement.

He provides commercially focused tax advice to both New Zealand and international clients across various industries.

Hamish assists with the tax aspects of M&A transactions, including transaction and financing structures, negotiating tax provisions in sale and purchase agreements, and advising on post-completion restructuring. He also has experience advising on finance transactions including on withholding tax and gross-up obligations, BEPS, FATCA and CRS obligations, and obtaining binding rulings or indicative guidance from Inland Revenue.
