Specialising in environment, planning and resource management law, Georgia advises public, commercial and iwi clients on range of legal and strategic issues.
Her experience includes working for a broad range of infrastructure clients, including roading and renewable energy generation, distribution and transmission. Georgia has appeared in the Environment Court and been involved across a broad range of fast-track consenting matters.
Recent highlights
- Advising Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency on the designation and resource consenting aspects for several state highway developments, including the SH1/29 Intersection Upgrade, Takitimu Northern Link and Cambridge to Piarere Long Term Improvements project.
- Advising renewable energy developers in relation to resource consenting for a number of different projects, including to secure consent for two large scale solar farms.
- Acting for an iwi organisation opposing resource consents for a coastal development.
- Advising various clients on environmental law and policy reform (including resource management, climate change, industrial allocation and emissions reductions).
- Undertaking environmental due diligence reviews large-scale transactions, including for the acquisition of nation-wide telecommunications infrastructure, renewable energy developments and waste, recycling and materials recovery assets.
