Morgan specialises in litigation and dispute resolution, and is a member of Te Waka Ture, our Māori legal group.
Morgan advises on all areas of litigation. She has a keen interest in Māori legal issues, corporate governance and intellectual property. Morgan has appeared in the Māori Appellate Court and the High Court.
Before Morgan worked at Chapman Tripp she was a Judges' clerk for two years at Te Kōti Matua o Aotearoa, Tāmaki Makaurau rohe (the Auckland High Court). She has also recently returned from completing her tohu (level 5 diploma) in te reo Māori and te ao Māori at Te Wānanga Takiura o Ngā Kura Kaupapa Māori o Aotearoa.
Morgan is from Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Whātua ki Kaipara.
Recent highlights
- Assisting Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu in claims for recognition of Ngāi Tahu rangatiratanga over freshwater.
- Assisting Zuru in proceedings against the Lego Group concerning trade mark protection, passing off and breaches of the Fair Trading Act 1986.
- Advising Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust on a range of strategic and commercial matters.
