Trent specialises in corporate and commercial law, and is a key member of our Māori legal group, Te Waka Ture.
Trent advises iwi and hapū, Māori landowners, Māori businesses and those looking to work alongside them on a range of legal issues including structuring, governance, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and commercial contracts.
Trent is passionate about supporting clients to maximise their commercial assets in order to forge a sustainable future mā ngā uri whakatipu.
Trent is from Rangitāne o Tamaki Nui-ā-Rua and Ngāpuhi.

- Advising Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa Trust and its subsidiaries on a diverse range of matters, including its commercial initiatives, structuring and governance issues.
- Assisting Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust and its subsidiaries with the achievement of economic, social and cultural objectives, such as its commercial joint ventures and Toi Ora (health insurance scheme).
- Advising the Iwi Collective Partnership on its ACE arrangements, constitutional matters and acquisition portfolio.
- Advising Te Nehenehenui (the post-settlement governance entity of Maniapoto) on its structure.
- Advising various clients on their engagement with tangata whenua.
