Max Williams

Max is a specialist in major projects and construction, advising clients throughout the full life cycle of complex developments across the infrastructure, transport, energy, healthcare and commercial sectors. 

Max acts for government entities, listed companies, principals, lenders and contractors on procurement strategy, contract drafting, negotiation, contract administration, and dispute resolution.  He has a deep knowledge of NZS and FIDIC standard forms, EPC contracts, supply agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, consultancy agreements, and other project documents.

Max previously worked for Allen & Overy in their Singapore energy and projects team, where he acted for sponsors and developers throughout Asia. 

Recent highlights

• Assisting Auckland International Airport on its Terminal Integration Programme including the new domestic jet terminal and associated airfield packages.
• Advising Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora on various hospital development projects.
• Advising a solar developer on the construction aspects for solar projects, including the EPC contract and O&M arrangements.
• Provided advice to a consortium on an international underwater electricity cable from Australia to Singapore.
• Advised a multi-national contractor on the operation and maintenance arrangements for a Korean offshore wind farm.
• Advised a listed company on a large mixed-use town centre development.
