Kylie brings extensive experience to large-scale, complex construction projects.

She works on both domestic and international matters across diverse sectors, including infrastructure, energy, transport, health, airports, industrial, residential and commercial.

Kylie advises on project structuring and strategy, contract drafting, and negotiation, with particular expertise in construction contracts such as NZS, FIDIC, NEC, bespoke and alliance agreements. She is also experienced in ancillary project documents, including consultancy agreements, supply contracts, warranties, guarantees and tender documentation. 

Known for cultivating strong rapport and seamless collaboration, Kylie’s in-depth market knowledge enables her to provide strategic, practical and contextualised advice that helps clients design procurement strategies aligned with their project objectives and timelines.

Recent highlights

  • Advising Auckland Airport on its multi-billion dollar Terminal Integration Programme, including various enabling packages, a new domestic jet terminal and the installation of a purpose-built integrated baggage handling system.
  • Working closely with Mercury on numerous construction projects and domestic and international drilling campaigns, including the Ngatamariki geothermal power plant expansion, the Maraetai 1, Ātiamuri and Ōhakuri hydro power plant refurbishment project, Turitea Wind Farm and BESS agreements.
  • Assisting Eastland Generation Limited on renewable energy projects, including the 49MW TOPP2 and 26MW Te Ahi o Māui geothermal developments at Kawerau, and the Te Ihi o te Rā solar farm at Gisborne Airport.
  • Regularly assisting NZ Transport Agency - Waka Kotahi on alliancing matters, including the East Coast Recovery Alliance for recovery and resilience works following Cyclone Gabrielle, the RiverLink Alliance, the O2NL Alliance, Mt Messenger Alliance and the Integrated Delivery Model programme for 10 years of road maintenance throughout New Zealand.
  • Assisting Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora on major hospital development projects, including New Dunedin Hospital, Waikato Hospital Renal Centre and Acute Mental Health facility, and Manukau Health Park at Middlemore Hospital.
  • Advising Precinct Properties on various developments including One Queen Street, student accommodation projects at 256 Queen Street and Stanley Street, and residential projects in Auckland.
  • Assisting Metlen on engineering, procurement and construction contract, operation and maintenance agreement, and other associated arrangements for solar farms.

Chapman Tripp advises Auckland Airport on new domestic jet terminal

Chapman Tripp is pleased to have advised Auckland Airport on its contract with Hawkins Limited for construction of a new domestic jet terminal building. Expected to be completed in 2029, and valued at approximately $800 million, this will be the major structure in the airport’s terminal integration programme which will provide resilience and capacity to support the future of travel through the airport. Chapman Tripp has advised on all aspects of the project, including assisting Auckland Airport to enter into various early works arrangements, civil works packages and other key packages including the procurement of a new integrated baggage system.
