Cameron advises on the financing of major infrastructure and energy projects, with a particular focus on the renewable energy sector.
Cameron acts for sponsors, lenders and borrowers and draws on experience gained in New Zealand, Australia and New York to develop innovative financing solutions which benefit the project in both the short and long-term.
Prior to joining Chapman Tripp, Cameron was a partner at White & Case, Sydney, for 10 years.
As well as having invaluable trans-Tasman experience, Cameron has acted on many market-leading New Zealand transactions including Lightsource bp and Contact Energy’s Kowhai Park and Glorit solar farms and the Christchurch Men’s Prison PPP.

- Advising the lenders on the portfolio project financing of the Wellington Solar Farm, the Woolooga Solar Farm, the West Wyalong Solar Farm, the Wellington North Solar Farm and the Wunghnu Solar Farm and their sale to Aula Energy.
- Advising the lenders on the project financing of the 171 MWdc Glorit Solar Farm.
- Advising the lenders on the project financing of the 168 MWdc Kowhai Park Solar Farm.
- Advising Equis on the project financing of the Melbourne Renewable Energy Hub BESS.
- Advising Hana Financial Investment on the acquisition, development and project financing of the 202 MWdc Columboola Solar Farm.
Infrastructure
- Advising the lenders to the successful Plenary-led ‘Southern Renewal Partners’ consortium on all aspects of the project financing of the Christchurch Men’s Prison Redevelopment Project PPP.
- Advising the lenders to the Northleaf Capital Partners and InfraRed Capital Partners consortium on its acquisition of an 80 per cent interest in Vodafone New Zealand’s passive mobile tower infrastructure.
- Advising the lenders to the successful Plenary-led ‘Plenary Health’ consortium on all aspects of the project financing of the New Footscray Hospital PPP.
- Advising the lenders to the Reliance Rail PPP on the 21-year Green Sustainability-Linked Loan to fully refinance its existing debt facilities.
- Advising the successful Tetris Capital-led ‘TESA Education’ consortium on all aspects of the project financing of the SA Schools II PPP.
