Guy is an expert in all aspects of commercial property law, including acquisitions and disposals, lease transactions, property finance, subdivisions, and development.
His work spans various industries including office, retail, industrial, forestry, energy projects (solar and wind), and data centres. Guy also has extensive experience in providing advice on and obtaining consent under the Overseas Investment Act 2005 (OIA).
Recent highlights
- Advising Aventuur on its acquisition of land at Dairy Flat, Auckland, to develop NZ's first ever surf park (including obtaining OIO consent and undertaking the necessary subdivision), and on its entry into a sale agreement with Spark for the development of a data centre development.
- Assisting Arvida Limited in obtaining OIA consent for a series of Unit Buy Backs at retirement villages in Rotorua and Palmerston North.
- Acting for 501 Karangahape Road Limited in relation to its lease to Cadillac and General Motors NZ.
- Advising EBOS Group Limited in relation to property matters in its acquisition of SVS Veterinary Supplies Limited and PPD Limited and obtaining OIA consent in relation such acquisition.
- Acting for several developers and financiers in relation to the development of various solar farms across New Zealand, including advising Christchurch International Airport Limited in relation to the property aspects for the development of the Kowhai Park solar farm.
- Advising a major investment bank on its development financing of the £800m data centre development at Sough being undertaken by Yondr. The data centre campus is planned to have a total capacity of 100MW once fully developed.*
- Acted for J.P. Morgan on its acquisition of Times Place, 45 Pall Mall, London, for £110m.*
