Georgina specialises in corporate and commercial law, with a focus on ICT projects and consumer law.
With a strong interest in technology law, Georgina works with a range of clients, including those in the technology, banking, energy, and telecommunications industries, and the public sector. Georgina regularly advises clients in relation to commercial and ICT contracting, privacy issues, and consumer protection law.
Before joining Chapman Tripp, Georgina worked for e-commerce platform Trade Me and a boutique New Zealand law firm.
Recent highlights
- Helping Powerco tender and negotiate long-term field services contracts with the major providers of maintenance and upgrade work on its electricity lines network.
- Advising Resolution Life on the transitional arrangements relating to its acquisition of the New Zealand life insurance company, Asteron Life New Zealand, for NZ$410m.
- Advising Powerco on the negotiation of a major cloud services contract with a key supplier covering core financial management, billing, asset management, and work management functions, and including the transition from ‘on-premise’ licences to a cloud platform.
- Supporting the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment on the All-of-Government contracts for the procurement of print technology and associated services.
- Advising Kiwibank on a wide range of partnership and supply contracts, including on secondment, to support its the transformation of its IT systems.
- Helping Transpower re-tender and negotiate long-term grid services contractors with the major providers of maintenance and upgrade work on the national grid.
- Assisting clients with a range of data protection issues, including in relation to privacy compliance, consumer-facing privacy notices, data commercialisation and analytics, cloud storage, and personal information requests.
