Chapman Tripp is strengthening its finance, infrastructure and energy sector capabilities with the appointment of Cameron Watson as a Partner.
Cameron joins from White & Case, Sydney, where he was a partner for 10 years, advising on the project financing of major infrastructure and energy projects, with a particular focus on the renewable energy sector.
Cameron has advised on transactions across the globe including Australia, New Zealand, Asia, North America and South America, and is admitted to practice and has practised at leading firms in Australia, New Zealand and New York.
As well as bringing valuable trans-Tasman expertise, Cameron has acted on many market-leading New Zealand transactions including Lightsource bp and Contact Energy’s Kowhai Park and Glorit solar farms and the Christchurch Men’s Prison PPP. He is currently advising the lenders on Lightsource bp and Contact Energy’s Stratford Hybrid Project.

Cameron will join the partnership on 1 October 2026.
