Chapman Tripp’s corporate and commercial team were named New Zealand Deal Firm of the Year at this year’s Australasian Law Awards.
The independent panel of judges awarded a tie for the win in 2021. Commenting on the win, the judges observed Chapman Tripp as “An outstanding M&A and deal team – depth, expertise and an unwavering commitment to client service”.
The judges also noted the firm’s impressive deal performance and the successful team’s role in advising clients on significant transactions in New Zealand.
Head of Chapman Tripp’s national corporate team, Partner Tim Tubman commented:

Chapman Tripp advised on more M&A transactions than any other New Zealand law firm, emergency capital raisings totalling over $3b significant initial public offerings (IPOs), and significant sell downs for NZX issuers.
Corporate Partner Roger Wallis was also recognised with an Excellence Award for New Zealand Dealmaker of the Year, highlighting his recent work on some of New Zealand’s largest M&A deals and significant COVID-19-related capital raisings.
