Chapman Tripp is pleased to have advised SkyCity Entertainment Group Limited (SkyCity) on its successful $240m equity capital raising.
This significant capital raising included a fully underwritten approximately $81m institutional placement and a fully underwritten 1 for 3.35 pro rata accelerated non-renounceable entitlement offer to raise approximately $159m. The equity raising provides balance sheet resilience to navigate a period of economic weakness and supports SkyCity’s near-term strategic priorities.
The Chapman Tripp team was led by partners Rachel Dunne and Philip Ascroft, with support from senior solicitor Ella Knoester and law clerk Zoe Tinkler.
Rachel Dunne commented, “The hard work and dedication of the SkyCity team during this process was impressive. They successfully executed the equity raising concurrently with release of the FY25 results, all whilst continuing to navigate the day-to-day operations of the business. We appreciate SkyCity placing their trust in us to support them on this significant transaction and look forward to seeing the business move forward with its strategic priorities.”
Chapman Tripp’s market-leading equity capital markets team continues to advise on many of New Zealand’s most significant transactions, drawing on deep sector expertise and experience across complex and high-value deals.
