To determine the award winners, KangaNews conducts thorough and intensive polling of those involved in the Australian and New Zealand debt markets.

Luke, senior associate, Jessica Elder, and solicitor, Tom Yates, advised Kiwibank on its repeat win of New Zealand Dollar Credit Bond Deal of the Year with a NZ$650m issuance of 6.254% 5-year medium term notes in October.
Luke and senior solicitor, Tom van Schaik, also advised Kauri Issuer of the Year Nordic Investment Bank on its largest ever Kauri bond, a NZ$700m 7-year issuance in February.
Chapman Tripp has advised on more than half of all New Zealand public debt market transactions in 2023, including wholesale and retail issuances, sustainable bonds, convertible notes, bank regulatory capital and Kauri bonds. The firm’s securitisation practice, which also includes partner Gerard Souness and senior associate Jana Hitchcock, has advised on more than 75% of New Zealand public securitisation transactions in 2023.
