Chapman Tripp is pleased to have advised StoneX Financial Pty Ltd (StoneX), a subsidiary of StoneX Group Inc. (NASDAQ: SNEX), on all aspects of its expansion into New Zealand's retail commodity derivatives market.
This included securing derivatives issuer and financial advice provider licences from the Financial Markets Authority, enabling StoneX to offer milk price risk management solutions to New Zealand dairy farmers and sharemilkers.
StoneX is a leading global provider of commodities, risk management and financial services solutions, with more than 5,400 employees across 80 offices worldwide.
The result is significant in a tightly held market, with StoneX joining a small group of derivatives licensees in New Zealand and bringing specialised solutions to New Zealand’s dairy sector.
The Chapman Tripp team advising StoneX was led by partner Tim Williams and included Bevan Miles, Nick Beresford, Doug Tang and Maggie Churm. Chapman Tripp’s market-leading Financial Services team continues to advise on many of New Zealand’s most significant and complex regulatory matters in the financial services sector.
