Chapman Tripp has advised NZCR on Advent International’s agreement to acquire a majority shareholding in the business.
NZCR is a leading physician-led clinical research organisation operating across New Zealand and Australia through its NZCR, CMAX, Optimal and Fusion brands. The group offers integrated Phase I-IV clinical trial capability and works with global pharmaceutical, biotechnology and contract research organisations.
The transaction will see Advent acquire a majority stake in NZCR Group, with existing shareholders including clinician shareholders, management and Waterman Capital retaining a significant minority shareholding. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Partner Joshua Pringle said:
“We are grateful for the opportunity to have worked on this landmark transaction for NZCR. It is a significant milestone for the business and reflects the strength of its platform, management team and clinical leadership.”
The Chapman Tripp team was led by partner Joshua Pringle, with support from Hamish Reid, Graeme Olding and Cathryn Barber.
